A test of these new X15's here http://www.storagereview.com/welcome...36752LW_1.html and note that these new drives get hot after extensive testing, unlike the 1st generation 18GB U160 with 4MB buffer model. These are the U160 with 8MB buffer. U320 models later.

magician tells me they are inbound. k

Hum... www.hypermicro.com has some in and is also totally out of the Atlas 10k II series (10k III will be interesting to see) and does have X15's.

I'd like to see IBM's Ultrastar 36Z15 and see if they've improved it much also.

    G,

My link includes some comparisons with the 36Z15 and storagereview also has a full test of it. k

The test drive for one was SCA-80 and there are bound to be some improvements from units provided for reviewers and what ships. Why I'd like to see updated reviews. - Gregory

Agreed. Storagereview does not seem to retest drives very often. Perhaps someone else will. k
