Default Mac Pro 1.1 Sudden Freezing

Hello, and first of all, thanks for you replies.

I have this Mac Pro 1.1 that I bought for very little money from a friend of mine. I know it needs to have the graphic card replaced, but I have "somehow" made it work for a while.

I am now findng myselkf stuck in sudden freezes, from which I can only get out stopping dead the machine, and restarting it, to then get the error report that I attach.

I hope someone can throw some light on this error...

This are the specs of my MAc Pro:

    Processor 2 x 3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    Memory 8 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Graphics ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512 MB
    Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
    and
    Model Name: Mac Pro
    Model Identifier: MacPro1,1
    Processor Name: Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    Processor Speed: 3 GHz
    Number of Processors: 2
    Total Number of Cores: 4
L2 Cache (per Processor): 4 MB
    Memory: 8 GB
    Bus Speed: 1.33 GHz
    Boot ROM Version: MP11.005C.B08
    SMC Version (system): 1.7f10

    Thank you all in advance!!

I haven't read the error report, but, if you know the graphic card needs replaced, I'd try that first.

    Agreed.

Could be software.....have you ruled that out? Fresh OS install?

Beyond that, if you did not suspect GPU issue, I would say swap HDs, and test fresh OS again. If it still locks up, could be GPU, logic board and/or CPU, RAM, or even bad power supply.

Since you know there is a GPU issue, makes sense to swap that first. I have seen a couple Mac Pros that would either lock up, or not fully boot correctly with a bad GPU card. Worth trying.
