Default The best way to make a drive compatible with both Mac & Windows

Formatting with FAT32 has always been the answer to this question but it has some limitations. I am questioning here to share more method of creating a drive compatible with Mac and Windows.

    Agreed.

For smaller drives (flash drives, portable HDs, etc.) I have had the best success by using DU on a Mac and selecting MS DOS(FAT). A few times drives formatted with FAT on Win boxes were wonky on Macs. Could not tell you why.

DU formatted drives have always been smooth sailing for me. Not for booting or systems though.
