    Default Airport Not working

We have 3 MacBook Pro that have problems connecting to the internet using the wireless system already in place. The following message appears in the network preference pane: AirPort has the self-assigned IP address 169.254.221.182 and will not be able to connect to the Internet.

    Any ideas?

What kind of wireless setup do you have?

Were you doing anything just before it stopped working?

That error happens when the Airport and your broadband box stop playing nice. try shutting down both the broadband box and the airport the restart the broadband box and let it boot and get fully running then start the airport up

Is the wireless connected.....but no internet?

The 169. address is self-assigned by the computer, which usually means the router is not handing them out (per the normal/common operation). Consider rebooting/replacing the router.

If you are comfortable, you can troubleshoot the router via it's web interface for more clues and info.
