    Default iLife 08/Leopard incompatibilities?

I had an iLife 08, of which I only really used Garageband.

Then recently I upgraded to 10.6.3, and thought no more about it.

Until yesterday, when I tried running iDVD for the first time in months, and it kept dropping out after a minute or so. I reloaded the full iLife program, but still iDVD fails.

Is there an incompatibility issue here, viz Leopard/iLife08? If so, I am (mildly) annoyed that I've got to pay out another lump of money to buy the latest iLife!

I have seen before that once you do the iLife version of something that it forces you to keep up with iLife...

When I saw this, I had updated to one of the iLife version, don't remember which. Then when I later updated the OS it would not open my iPhoto library. iLife changes the database.

I do not recall whether iDVD had any issues or not. But I definitely had to buy the latest iLife to stay compatible with iPhoto.

    Thanks Ricks,

At least that lets me know I'm on the right lines, and a glance at eBay shows iLife11s going for as little as $25, allegedly brand new, boxed, never-been-used, etc., so it isn't such a hardship.

But still mildly annoyed, for as we pay SO much more initially for our kit than PC users, you'd think system upgrades would help out with all the other bits and pieces...

We don't usually and not to any civilized degree in any case.

We are very very cynical though...
