    Default Seagate Question

Are there known issues with the following hard drives?:

    Seagate Barracuda, 500 GB, 7200.10
    Seagate Barracuda, 500 GB, 7200.11

One of the 7200.10 drives that I have shows up fine in Disk Utility when it's in the Burly Enclosure.

But it's showing the following message when I put the same drive in bays 1, 2 or 3 of the Mac Pro's internal bays:

"This drive has reported a fatal hardware error to Disk Utility"

    Mac Pro
    OS 10.5.8
    2 x 3 GHz Quad Core

I have, for some time now, preferred Seagate drives to Maxtor and definitely over Western Digital.

I'd agree with the firmware suggestion If the drive works fine in the enclosure, it obviously isn't a bad drive. if the firmware is outdated, it may give errors on a different bus.
