Along with Damien's idea. You need to reset the motherboard and/or PMU.

Another thing to check is the cabling, make sure you didn't inadvertently unplug or loosen anything.

Default How do you reset the motherboard

The startup chime doesn't work when my G4 400 boots up. What is the procedure for resetting the motherboard. Is resetting the motherboard the same as zapping the parameter ram? If not how do you zap or reset the parameter ram?

    Thanks

    Here you go:

    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86760

At the bottom there is a link to find the PMU/CUDA -- look at the G4 PCI which is pretty much a B/W motherboard. The B/Ws and PCI G4s actually have both a Cuda and a PMU. I'm not sure which they've circled in that diagram.

The PMU on a B/W is labeled 'power'. Make sure you unplug the machine when you perform the procedure, otherwise that 'power' button will startup the machine.
