I'm trying to get some advice and information and this forum seems to have it all. I have a new Dell XPS 410 Vista Home Premium system which came with a 320GB Serial ATA 2 Hard Drive (7200RPM). It has 3 extra Sata type L ports on the MB. I want to put the WD inside and use for storage. The Samsung in an enclosure for back ups.

I'm confused with all the standards etc. Sata, Sata II, eSata, Type I, Type L, R angle, L angle.

1)Will any cable run up to the 3.0gb/s?
2)I want to put a dual Sata PCI bracket in one of my slots and wire it to the MB. Which type bracket is faster?
3)Does the connection type make a difference. Everhthing I have now is type L. Are the type I for eSata better.
4)What enclosure is best for 1-2 HD's?

I have quite a bit of Digital music and photos and some home made movies that I back up frequently.

TIA,
Any advice or links would be appreciated.

Jeff
