    Default Quicksilver Logic Board Error

    Hi there,

it's been a long time since I've been here to get advise from you guy's. Well, that's the good news. My kernel panics are back, but it seems the source of the problem is deeper than memory.

Just in the last few days the G4 crashes randomly. Sometimes under heavy load, other times when having only Safari or Mail running.

So I ran a slew of tests i.e. Disk Warrior, Disk Utility (from Disk), Rember, Memtest just to find nothing wrong. Well, AHT came up with something on the Logic Board test:

    ***ERROR CODE***
    SCC_/3/7

I reset the logic board, zapped PRAM etc. Error persists.
Any help on deciphering this error would be appreciated.

    Uli

I have no idea what that code means, but I do know that QS seem to have a higher than normal rate of logic board problems. If you've done the PMU reset, and verified that it is indeed a hardware problem not software you're probably looking at a new board.

I guess I'll have to finally make room for a new tower. The QS is almost 6yrs. and has more than earned its $$$. May be make a nice media server from it and buy a new MacPro for studio work....
