    I just received my new (to me) iBook G3/466. I cleaned it up and did a fresh install of Panther (X.3.3) and 9.2. Everything went extremely easy until I noticed there was no copy of iMovie? I went back to my install disc and when I tried to install it alone I received the message that it will not install on this computer? Something else I noticed that I thought was/is peculiar was that the installer installed iPhoto 4 and then 4.2 on software update? I thought iPhoto 2 was on the Panther discs. The OS I'm using is the retail Panther. I really wanted to do some video work on this iBook but need somehow to get iMovie installed?

    Your iBook is 'under-powered' for video work ;-(

    I don't know what cpu upgrades are available, but G4 might be req'd.

    Minimum system requirements for latest iLife components:

    System Requirements

    -600MHz G3 or faster required for GarageBand; G4 or G5 required for GarageBand software instruments
    * 256MB of physical RAM
    * Display with at least 1024-by-768-pixel resolution
    * Mac OS X v10.2.6 or later (v10.2.8 or later recommended)
    * QuickTime 6.4 or later (QuickTime 6.5 included)
    * 4.3GB of disk space required to install GarageBand, iTunes, iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD; or 250MB to install iTunes, iPhoto, and iMovie only

    Important Notes:

    * DVD drive required to install GarageBand and iDVD
    * iDVD requires a 733MHz PowerPC G4 or faster.
    * Burning DVDs using iDVD requires an Apple SuperDrive.
    * Burning iPhoto archives to CD or DVD requires Mac OS X v10.2.8 or later.
    * iPhoto book and print ordering services are available only in the U.S., Canada, Japan, and select territories; fees apply.

    I don't remember what version of iPhoto was on the Panther disks. But 4.2 works well. k
