I found a couple of minor disturbing articles over at the Digidesign forums, it's of course, only more food for the "rumor-mill" fodder, but will Apple and Intel get together, or will they go with IBM?

Just wanted to know what any of you Gurus think...

Myself, I wish that Apple would've snatched up Digital, when the Alpha chip finaly got phased out, but this is of course from a biased standpoint (as I had a Alpha until the noise just became too much).

    Food for thought,

Neither. Apple has survived this long without being acquired, and there's no reason to think that they are close to a buy now. Their cash reserves are still extensive, and their products are selling pretty well, especially considering the economy.

    Have faith!

...and maybe IBM will buy out AMD which is in some need of help, then devote AMD's resources to the Apple cpu devision (POWER5 Lite or whatever). Or crank out XServers!

I'm more concerned with the Apple filesystem's future, breaking Disk Warrior, Drive10 (if it ain't already), TechTool Pro 4, etc etc. and adopting a full journalized file system.
