I've gotten one of those newly released dual booting MDD G4's and had a 2nd optical drive installed by my local service tech.

In OS X.2.6 I see in the upper left hand corner that I have a choice of which drive to open. Really Cool! But when I'm using OS 9 I just can't seem to figure out how to get the drive door to open on that second optical drive.

Anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks!

Does it show up in your ASP Apple System Profiler, if so as what and where?

?I believe you can hold the Option Key when you hit the Eject key and that will get the other Optical Drive.

Yup, Rick has it right. Holding the option key down and hitting the eject key works in both 9 and X to both open and close the combo drive tray when you have both the SuperDrive and Combo Drive.

SuperDrive works the same way as above but without holding down the option key. I've got both in my MDD DP dual boot. k

Yes, thank you... that worked. At this point I have only an OS 9 version of Toast (Titanium), and was stymied on how I could duplicate a CD for backup purposes.

    Appreciate it!
