I've got an iBook (2000, firewire, 466mhz) that has recently developed a screen issue. One line of pixels, about 3/4's down from the top (running horizontally) does not display properly. They aren't black, or any color really, they just seem to "vibrate" or shimmer. On some things, particularly a screen of a single color, it is very noticeable, and on others, like watching a DVD, you can hardly tell (lots of color changes). Could this just be a bad/crimped cable, or is the whole screen going bad? Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Sean
PS Happens regardless of system (9.1 or X.2) and application.

    just curious...

does anyhting happen if you change resolutions? I would think it is the LCD if the same line malfunctions at different respolutions.

If I'm not wrong, Apple changes all the malfunctioning displays if they have 5 or more "turned off" pixels in the display. Yours don't seem to be turned off, but it will be worth knowing if you can replace it or if the guarantee covers it.

It is there independent of resolution. And, unfortunately, my warranty is expired. Oh well, time to hunt down a new screen I guess!
    Thanks,
    Sean
