My daughter's iMac was fried by a few drops of water. Don't ask. It was determined by a reputable Mac shop that the motherboard is on the frizz.

The iMac is from the 5-color generation (orange), its serial number is SXB92302PGT1. I would like to buy a new motherboard and have it installed.

How do I *know* which motherboard I'm looking for?

Try going through this Apple page of iMac specifications and see which one matches your configuration. It's bound to be there.
