I just hooked up a Silicon Graphics 20" monitor with a Sony tube. It starts up fine but the Twin Turbo Accelerator extension causes a conlict. The icons appear with the names unreadable. I have to turn the extension off so as a result the refresh rate is very slow.

Are you running the sgi through an adapter? Sometimes that causes problems.

Please post your full system description, complete with make of Mac, RAM, installed PCI cards, storage devices, previous monitor configs, and MacOS version and version #s of all drivers.

Suggestion: Apple System Profiler has all this in one easy package.

did the ixM software install a resource titled Display Manager 2.0, or Display Enabler 2.0, or something like that? If so, disable it, and let me know what happens.

Display Manager and Display Enabler not in system. I was running a 21" Radius without any problem. mactherippper mentioned it might be the adapter.

    could be.

the easy way out is to simply call Griffin Tech and ask them if you need a different adapter.

Could it be that the Twin Turbo software is not compatible with OS 8.6? Where would the upgrade be posted if there is one?

Downloaded Interarchy. Unfortunately it did not even come with a Read Me file to explain its use. Tried to acess ftp.macgurus.com without any luck.

Twin Turbo drivers 4.06.104 are fully compatible with 8.6. I've been running them for a year and a half.

    Try downloading from Gurus again.

Got on to your FTP site and downloaded the Twin Turbo software. Everything seems to be working fine. Thanks.

sorry about that. We are testing a new FTP server which has much more capacity and should be much faster.

we should have it online for good next week.
