I need to replace the battery on an S900. Can someone tell me where the battery is located on the motherboard and any special precautions one need take in doing the replacement?

    Thanks,

Ground yourself (touch the powersupply), unplug everything and take the cover off. The battery is a 3.6V 1/2AA (size) Lithium Ion type. It is located above and to the right of the DIMM slots. I'm sure you could check the GURU's MOBO drawings - I couldnt find any clone boards. Maybe I missed them.
Here is a link to the 9500 board, but I dont see a battery located on it. http://www.macgurus.com/shoppingcart...mbppc9500.html

I dont have my S900 in front of me now.

i just changed mine. if you have something installed in bay 4 or 5 you might have a little trouble getting at it. i had to remnove my HD from bay 4 before i could get my fingers in there. there's a black cover over the battery which you will have to remove. once that's off, look carefully to see how the old battery was placed and pull it and install the new one, click the cover back on.
when you put it all together again and reboot , you'll have to reset some of the basic prefs of your computer including the date/time.
