Epson Expression 636 & Photoshop

I upgraded Photoshop 6 to 6.1. My Epson Expression 636 scanner hesitates or freezes during the prescan phase. Is this a driver problem? Is there an upgrade for the Silverfast Driver?

I just checked the Epson site--not much new there. Try reinstalling your existing driver. The Pshop upgrade may have overwritten something...

and poke around your plug-ins folder for clues.

Thanks. I poked around in the plug-in folder and found the scanner driver was not in the import/export folder. Something must have happened during the upgrade because the scanning process was working fine before.

You can operate most scanners without importing the scanner thru PS.. have you tried that to make sure it is the plug-in? Then i would re-install the scanner software after backing up your scanner settings.

Dragging the driver into the Import/Export folder seems to have solved the problem.
