    OK everyone, I am curious:

    Who has had an OS 10 infestation (any kind: virus, worm, macro, etc.), or seen or heard of one firsthand?

    ?ĢDid it do damage?
    ?ĢHow much?
    ?ĢHow was it killed or removed?

    No replys and no views?!

    Either 10 is still *that* safe, or we are all going to step in some deep doo-doo...

    ?I have yet to ever hear ANYONE who had a virus or worm on their Mac. At least not anyone I believed. I spend a lot of time on forums and that has never been reliably written up by anyone.

    ? It seems that if someone wanted to create one they could, but would it have be Mac specific? And for what purpose? To mess up the next movie from Pixar, what geek wants to screw up the next A Bugs Life?

    I have only had 1 virus about 15 years ago (did not even know it) in my 15+ years with Macs. Got it off a disk that a friend had a Chess game on. He put it on his computer at our work (a small college) spread through the college and pissed the System Admin. off - but everything did. The Disinfectant program fixed it all - no damage or problems.

    We have seen a handful a virus problems at work, but they have been M$ Word specific, not really an OS X virus. But if OS X users, and our X Server box are to be bug free - not typhoid Marys - we need to install antivirus software.

    It really blows that the security holes in Office reach across platforms to get us... and eat resources up just to rid ourselves of a bug from a different platform!

    I had one. It was called msOFFICEX

    I had to go into the terminal and type;

    sudo rm -R /Applications/Microsoft\ Office\ X

    Sorry, couldn't resist!
