Are there reports somewhere that document the speed difference between, say, the default IDE circuitry in a Yosemite (ATA/33?) and one that has a Sonnet Tempo ATA/66 controller (*not* the RAID)?

I tried Breeden's site, but I couldn't find that particular piece of info...

I think Jorge can tell you all about that. He lived that test and tried a lot of different alternatives. He should surf thru soon.

the onboard ide Yose throughput is about 10-12Mb a sec with the Apple drives. The Sonnet board with a fast IDE drive will be around 30Mb a sec.

The following link has testing comparing the onboard ide of the beige G3 (very similar to Yose) and adding a Sonnet board with IBM drive.
