    hi all!
in my 1st msg to the forums I'd like some help ;-)
I have a Power Mac G3 233 Desktop wich I'm gonna update: overclocking, new hard drive, RAM and.... a video card.

These are the quartz extreme requirements:
"Quartz Extreme functionality is supported by the following video GPUs: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX, GeForce3, GeForce4 MX, or GeForce4 Ti or any AGP-based ATI RADEON GPU. A minimum of 16MB VRAM is required. "

As I understand, I need an AGP Ati, or a nVidia... but it doesn't says "AGP nVidia" so I believe that I can use a PCI nVidia card, since my G3 (as far as I know) doesn't have AGP.
Some one on chat told me that I'd need AGP nVidia...

Well... I'm confused.. Do you know if I'll be able to get quartz extreme benefits with a PCI nVidia card?

    thanks a lot!

See www.xlr8yourmac.com forums for more info, but it comes down to this:

    -You have a beige G3.
    -You dont have AGP
-You cant use Nvidia video cards (the only two in PCI flavors require a version of open firmware/PCI that the beige doesnt have).
-You might be able to use a Radeon 7000
-Some people think that enabling QE over a PCI bus doesnt get you much of anyewhere.

    Mad Dog
