Question - would it just be a psychological thing - or would that Open Firmware reset have a big impact on performance (in the positive sense)?. My machine, at least, qualitatively seems to be...
Ohhh - that seems to have worked.. well at least something happened.

Oh - I did run DW (when I was able to get it to boot from the CD) and it didn't pick up much - what it did pick up was relatively minor and fixable.. no drive problems.. so the open firmware might be...
Hi there

Yeah - things have been real hectic around the University...
It didn't seem to make a difference - AC or battery (new or old). I was having random kernel panic issues before after putting in new RAM (partial clue here) but the problem still existed even with...

BTW - I'm partial to external RAID boxes (since I could then move them to alternate machines) but I guess that would negate the idea of a 3Ware controller... (sigh)..
I really like the xRAID ideas...
I know that there was some discussion a while ago about the potential of linking in the 3Ware controllers with Macs.. any updates?
I need to increase my storage on my server and while I can go...
Hi
I use an array of 4 VXA drives under Retrospect that's running on an older G4/500 upgraded Yikes machine under OS X... It backs up all my students laptops (PC/Mac), our lab servers (OS X) and...

What's interesting about the RAM thing is that if you use the stock Apple RAM, it will work -= the problem is with the third-party stuff.. I know that some of the new PowerBooks had problems when...
