Hello.

On printing (in Quark 7), my 'Device Options' always seem to need resetting to my current Canon MG5250 series printer (unless of course I'm picking up an old file which was already using that printer and had its 'settings' captured).

I've tried deleting the PPDs from the list in Quark, but they reappear when I reboot.

Is there a way of getting Quark to default to the PPDs that I want?

Thanks.

You're setting up your current printer in printer preferences as the default printer? Should be able to make that default printer selection a global preference there.

Hello ricks, and thanks.

Yes, the printer itself (i.e. top of the Print Panel when you go to Print in Quark) defaults to the right machine; it's the PPD that doesn't.

Maybe I'm being over-fussy, and the PPD 'read-out' doesn't actually matter much. Curiously, the PPD defaults to a printer that has since gone to the great printshop in the sky. I have a notion that there is a 'control click' that you can do in Print & Fax preferences which 'clears' all previous settings. I might try that once I can remember where to click...

Or maybe even pull its driver altogether.
