I would like to update mac mini A1283.

Is Intel Core 2 Duo Processor E7600 (3M Cache, 3.06 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB) compatible with Mac Mini A1283?

And also will A1283 see 8 GB of RAM?

Thank you,
c8

Welcome to MacGurus!

I can't answer your question(s) with any authority, but I look forward to what response you get. My guess is that you might need to be good with a silver soldering to make those changes. Hey but what do I know. Let's see.
Good Luck

Actually the older Mac Mini has a slotted processor (no soldering) and can be easily replaced. Just make sure your new proc is adequately cooled.

As for that particular proc I am sorry to say that I don't know

Yes, you can install and use 8 GB of memory in that Mini. 8500 SO DIMMs.

If you want to go fast.....consider a hard drive upgrade while in there. An SSD (or at least a fast 7200 HD) in a Mini = solving the slowest part of the beast.
