My friend that I helped replace the hard drive and add more RAM into a G5 iMac with a 1.8GHz PPC processor. The drive is mostly gone bad I was able to back everything up reinstall everything new. Except, she has an Adobe elements application that she cannot find the CD or DVD installer for. She uses it only for making labels for CDs and DVDs that she burns for her children, grandchildren and family with photos on them. It sounded like a fairly basic application that had templates for different printouts. It also allowed imports of photos and images that could be printed and used as labels.

I'm looking for a "Inexpensive" application or similar application to help her out. I did some search for Adobe elements and did find a few older versions that would probably work fine. Nothing specific but probably something out there. This is just something I never do or work with so many ideas, input will be appreciated, even new application suggestions. Except for the importing of images I would assume a shareware freeware program could almost do this.

I can't find all the Adobe Elements files on the old hard drive. I am gonna let DiskWarrior go at it now. experiment :)

Thanks a lot, Randy

Is there a version of Elements that you need? Not sure if there are versions anyway but I remember I had some included with printers I got, unopened. I'll try to find them. I'll let you know.

It would be appreciated..... this lady is retired now in her 70's now - she taught me so much and became my good friend. I was her boss for 15 years. She made me look good. I owe still her. ;) One of the hardest working people I ever met.

I thought Elements was a light weight Photoshop.......Still available (http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshopelwin/) too, though not for Mac. I assume there is no new Mac version because much of what you would use it for is now in iPhoto.

Other options:

http://opensword.org/Pixen/

There is at least one other, but the name escapes me.....

But give her a book or tutorial and she will get it figured out. I could check the older version from the old hard drive if needed but it's 3-4 years and maybe going on 5.

Does iPhoto have CD/DVD templates?

My friend has a PPC G5 iMac 1.8GHz 1.5GB RAM, and can't use Intel platform software. She has located this... it's a newer version of what she had. Did not see a universal software.

Any bad thoughts on it? What does... "Platform.........No Operating System, Mac" mean? Just to be sure. ;)

She enjoyed your links unc and found useful stuff on them.

Thanks guys,

I was going to offer to burn a copy from a DMG, but it appears I no longer have PSE 6.

My friend bought Adobe Elements version 6 ---- Now seems she needs a driver... for this... CanoScan LIDE 80 Canon and her computer is... 10.5.8 G5 1.8GHz PPC not Intel

I find this... http://driverscollection.com/?file_id=27944

Comments, better ideas - different driver

I am finding this here. (http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&tabact=DownloadDetailTabAct&fcategoryid=351&modelid=9374) I am worried or wondering about a driver compatibility with 10.5.8.
TIA

It was OS 10.4.11 Canon's site had everything. Power went out just when we started. Downloaded the drivers and manual to my iMac and burned to CD while on UPS. I powered down. Booted, installed the driver on her G5 iMac while running on my UPS. Guru's taught. :kickass:
