I have a 8 Core 3.0 ghz Mac Pro with 18gb ram. I use the computer mostly of PS but I am also starting to get into Maya. I currently have my OS, apps, and user on a single 250gb WD Caviar SE, and there is around 180gb available. I have my scratch and working files on a RAID 0 made up of 6x 36gb Seagate 15k.3's.

I am considering changing out my startup drive and right now I have two different options that won't cost me anymore money. I can either put in a Samsung F1 1tb drive or I could split up the user and os/apps onto 2 x 500gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.10. The Samsung drive is alot faster than the Seagate's. So my question would be is it bette, faster drive or splitting up the user from the OS/apps.? If I do go with the Samsung should I have two partitions, one for user, OS, apps, and the second for storage?
