Does anyone know if Apple fixed the issue that makes Photoshop pause while painting? I installed the plug-in disableVMbuffering but now PS crashes sometime while painting. I have 6 gigs RAM and set the amount to 100%.

Thanks! Chris

Supposedly the painting pause problem is fixed in Leopard- a reasonable Adobe authority said so...but I have not been able to test it yet myself.

Not sure which OS yer using Chris-

In Tiger OS, vm buffering is not active by default so one must use the Force VM Buffering plugin to make it buffer scratch data in RAM. The Disable VM Buffering plugin is not necessary (just make sure the Force VM Buffering plugin is disabled with a ~).

In Leopard OS, vm buffering is active by default so in order to prevent it, one must use the Disable VM Buffering plugin. The Force VM Buffering plugin is not necessary for Leopard.

I would say set your RAM to 70%- better performance for the OS & PS and dis-able < ~ > the Disable VM Buffering plugin.

And how's your scratch disk? Plenty of free space?
