I have a Burly 5 bay PM enclosure with Hitachi & seagate sata drives within, what is the regular operating tempeture for drives, my lcd's on my drive tray say 84 F.

That is a wee bit cooler than we usually see, but well within expected. Normally high 80 and low 90s depending on ambient temperatures.

Not that I am real proud of these numbers but they are within operating specifications. My QS's 74GB Raptor runs at 33C or about 93 F and rarely gets warmer. ;)

Thanks both of you for that info, it was pretty hot in my room today and my drives were running at between 90F and 99F, at what temp should i start being concerned about overheating?
Yeah mine is 35C / 95F currently and end of my day. You should be fine. Cooler is better and I've been going to work on my room airflow a little. I am sucking warmer than needed air. ;)

Me too, my airflow is way to warm, we have no air conditioning in the house...yep it's time to get creative and somehow het some cool air running into the system.
