How did adding a new account solve my problem?

1GB of RAM

I could not get safari 2.02 to load properly. When I opened it no web site would load and then it would crash. Reinstalling the system software didn't help. I would get a message after installation that errors occured during the installation.

I created a new account,booted up from that account, and now safari works again. I can easily make new bookmarks. I had to re-enter the settings for email but that was no big deal.

Can anybody tell me how creating a new account caused safari to load properly again? What do you think was wrong with Safari in the first place?

Each user accounts has it's own preferences by default. So apparently your original user has had a change to a setting to make this happen or a corrupted file could do this also. Hard to say what.
