Yes I just today bought a MacIntel 1.66 CoreDuo Mini for my kids christmas gift. was setting it up for them and it is surprisingly fast. Not as fast as my 3 year old G5 but darn close for things like iTunes, safari, mail etc..

Yeah, they are pretty impressive for the price. When the day comes, grab a mini stack (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/ministack/) and pick up speed and storage. On the PPC minis, it was faster booting to a good FW drive than the internal 2.5.

Best bang for the buck going, especially if you have keyboard/mouse/monitor lying around.

When people come here asking to upgrade their 5 yr old G4 and a couple of us point to the Mini they probably wonder if we've lost it. If they had FW800/eSATA ports they really are quite the thing. And who knows how upgradable the cpu will remain, but likely, too.

That's a pretty sweet device right there!

I am have run Doom 3 on this mini just for kicks...

If you put everything to its lowest setting it is comfortably playable. This is much more than I expected from the intel GX chip. Plus this mini has the stock 512MB ram

The blurbs I see have folks pushing big Plasma TVs with them apparently 2D is pretty solid. The things keep creeping closer to a media center. Remote control, eyeTV (http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyetvhybridna) , and a mini stack (or two) and you are there.
