I just installed the 111D, shows in the SP, but says it's not supported.
Put in a couple of different brands of CDs and they all opened.
Don't have any DVD media so I can't test that yet!

So, because the DA says it's NOT supported, is this a case of installing "patchburn SW"?

The 111D revision is 1.19.
I thought that it's suppose to be supported ?
Or do I go to the Pioneer site and do a firmware update also ..... or what?

Now, I'll be able to use the information from the previous thread to buy my blank DVD media!
This is a GREAT SITE ................ isn't it?

What's the difference between this burner (DVR 111D) and the New Mac Super Drive?
I beleeve it's a model A11 ?

Thanks, h

It depends on what OS you are running. Under Tiger 10.4.something it is, under Panther you need PatchBurn utility.

Thanks man!

I forgot to mention what OS I am using.
So, I installed "patchburner". Guess you know where I'm coming from now!
ASP says "vender supported ".
One down ......one to go!

Next, I'm trying to update my Macs firmware from 4.1.9 to 4.2.8 ang having a problem.
I'm either stupid or my brain is on vacation today.
I don't quite understand why it won't install?

Do I have to have OS 9.1 installed on the DA before I can do the firmware
update?
What's the "WORK-AROUND"?

I have it burnt on CD ....copied to th DA desktop .........that didn't work.
When I click to open it ....a window says .... "an unexpected error occurred".

The firmware window says " you must start up from a local Mac OS 9.1 or later writeable partition ( not a CD or network disk ) before following the update instructions.

note// If the Power Mac Firmware updater will not run on this coputer, then you don't need to run this update.

I'm telling ya ....I don't get it?

It's something like this that's probable so simple to understand .... that makes me wonder if I'm even capable of doing the ........... Giga upgrade route!

Don't tell me I have too install OS 9.1 on my hard drive ...... just to do the firmware update, then turn around and delete it?

Information needed here!
thanks, h
