My main Mac si a 933 MHz G4 Digital Audio, 1 GB RAM and 300 GB drive for video capture and 80 GB boot drive attached to a Sonnet ATA controller card. Presently, my videocard is a Radeon 8500 64 MB. Do I need to upgrade to a newer videocard like the Radeon 9800 or the 8500 is sufficient for basic video editing and DVD authoring? I only need to use iMovie6 and iDVD6 and Toast. Thank you.

The videocard you've got will be just dandy for basic video editing. It's only when you got into the heavier duty compositing with the latest version of Final Cut and Shake that the software is able to leverage the GPU to do any of the work.

Thank you, so my 8500 can handle the job for basic video editing. :)
