Is there anyway I can restore this speaker ?

Do you have it under an AppleCare plan? If not, if you call the AppleCare number I would imagine they would be happy to sell you a replacement. How about checking with your local Apple retailer (if they have a service department)?

tell your friend to call;) ... that hurt huh. Kinda hard to mistake speaker and power button, but then again I have seen people try to put flopies in a MO. Next time tell your friend to push the small round button above the big round hole. Internal speakers shouldn't cause your wallet too much damage though. But for about $100.00 US dollars you can get the JBL set from Mac, I use them and for the price they sound pretty damn good.

That sounds like an excellent idea Damien. BTW, my MDD came with a round plastic speaker grill loose in an unmarked bag to install in that hole. No part number in any of my documentation. Apple has a pdf doc for replacing that grill but again no part number http://www.info.apple.com/usen/cip/pdf/g4fw800/g4mdd-fw800-spkrgl.pdf k
