This is cross posted in the PTP section - sorry if this bothers anyone but I just really want to solve this problem.

Hello all - I have everything ready to be installed here but I REALLY NEED HELP on the SCSI ID thing (jumpers on the new 10k drives - where should they go?) Here's what I have going on.

PowerTower Pro

Slot 1. Miles 2 Card
Slot 2. XLR8 USB Card
Slot 3. XLR8 Firewire Card
Slot 4. SCSI Card (for scanner)
Slot 5. Radeon PCI card
Slot 6. Twin Turbo 128 Card
Bay 1. Stock CD-ROM (will probably switch with new at some point)
Bay 2. New Seagate 36.7 10k Drive w/ultimate cooling fan
Bay 3. New Seagate 36.7 10k Drive w/ultimate cooling fan
Bay 4. 4 GB Western Digital Hard Drive (for boot drive)
XLR8 G4SSE Processor Card
1 GB RAM

Now before I hooked up the drives I low level formatted the 4 GB Boot drive and installed OS 9.1. After this I tested the drive - everything ok. Now I just need someone to tell me where the jumpers need to go on the new hard drives so they will work. When I tried to startup without putting any jumpers on I get the chime but nothing on screen - I assume the Miles Card is screwing with the boot drive being recognized.

Please help - I just can't wait to get this system working.

Thanks,

Adam

Here are a few of my posts from last spring about connecting a MilesU2W and 18 gig 10k Cheetah. Hope these help. If not search in the "SCSI Forum" for Miles or someones name...

Adam,

The only jumper you should need on either of the Cheetahs is an ID changer on one of them. If you have no jumpers at all then the ID is set to 0, you then need the other drive to have a discreet number of its own, I usually use 1.

That should be it for jumpers on a LVD bus.

thanks ricks - I just downloaded the pdf for the drives - no manual -oh well. I'll try the jumper thing and get back to you. Many thanks for all your help.

Just wanted to let you know that everything is working great - I'm going to attempt an OS X install in a few weeks.

Many Thanks for all the help.
