I am currently looking for a SCSI Raid solution to work with the Aurora Igniter base card. I have a G4 733 with 512 MB RAM. I use Final Cut Pro and After Effects. I don't need a tremendous amount of space (1-2 hrs worth at 1.5:1 compression) I want to spend about 1500-2000. Suggestions?

ATTO UL3D dual channel controller + (2) Seagate Cheetah 36.7G drives (ST336705LW) + (2) pairs of Granite cables and LVD terminators. Scream.

right.

it's all available on the main site. You need part number GD4800, two each, and GD6299, two each, for dual-channel RAID. These are on the internal cables page (http://www.macgurus.com/shoppingcart/obj_show_page.cgi?mgscsiteflonintcables.html).

your drives are part number ST336705LW, 36GB Cheetah LVD 10k, from our Seagate page (http://www.macgurus.com/shoppingcart/showrampage.cgi?mg_hdseagates.html). Get a pair of those. All you need are four screws per drive to install in the Sawtooth, included at no charge.

once you have your drives installed, your ATTO UL3D (http://www.macgurus.com/shoppingcart/showrampage.cgi?attoboards.html) in one of the PCI slots, you initialize your Cheetahs with SoftRAID (http://www.macgurus.com/beta/obj_show_page.cgi?mgscsiraid.html) and create your RAID volume.

that's it.
