I've finally decided to part with my 9600/400 (formerly owned by an Apple engineering VP), and since I can't peg what a 9600/400 is worth, it's on eBay.

I decided not to sell the daughtercard by itself (sorry to the bunch of you who expressed interest).

Hey Chris, you OK with a face-to-face cash transaction if a fellow SF Bay resident gets the high bid? Any chance for a MacGurus forum discount?

my free 9500 is nickel-and-diming me to death!

ricercar, thanks for the bid!

I'm fine with face to face (I'm on the Peninsula). I won't discount the price, but I will give a Gurus local break on any extras (I have some RAM, a FireWire card, and some other doohickeys which will go cheaper to a Gurus local).

You'll also get some good gossip about the machine's history, as well as the identity of the former owner (who will be a big name in the CEO world if the market turns around).

Chris,
I sent you an email question on ebay, but wanted to make sure you get it and know from where it comes. I don't know the 9600 but have always longed to have one. Can you enlighten me, how many hard drives can I install internally in your machine and what kind of ports are there - RCA for sound in/out and video like the 7500/8500 machines? Thanks for the info and good luck getting what it's worth, I've thrown my hat in the ring.
