View Full Version : ExpressStripe - bad news

02-11-2002, 12:01 PM
I created some simple volumes on a drive in OS X using ExpressStripe. Not even RAID0. using the new OS 9 Enblr I got the volumes on the drive to mount, but the Finder balked and Norton didn't like the volume header.

None of the format utilities could even reformat the drive (maybe that's a good thing???)

I tried using Expresspro, SoftRAID, Drive Setup, FWB HDT 4.5.2. They all failed.
I don't know what ATTO is smokin' but there's a fog somewhere.

More news on this:
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> It has
just been reported and confirmed that ExpressRAID/ProTools/VMS Volumes are
incompatible with Alsoft's DiskWarrior. DiskWarrior reports that there are
problems with the disk and the OS reports errors when disks are
unmounted/remounted. This problem does not happen with Apple's formatter
or SoftRaid.

To test your issues further, if you are able, can you attempt to
recreate a volume and NOT run DiskWarrior on it to see if you encounter the
same issues you are reporting? This unfortunately might be our missing
link; the reason why we are not seeing your mounting issues... Please keep
me in the loop with any findings.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask.
