Somehow I must've missed this. We're running OS X on a Beige G3 (with an XLR8 upgrade). So, the other day we put a floppy in the drive and nothing happened. Does OS X support floppies under OS X or is something funky going on? The floppy works if we boot under OS 9.1.

OSX does not support floppies.

A third party driver might emerge, but considering how useless they've become, I would start moving everything to ZIP/CDR fot the future...

Mac OS X doesn't support the internal floppy of your Beige G3 - however, it does support USB floppies. Kind of dumb in my opinion, but hopefully they eventually put internal floppy drive functionality back into Mac OS X (I can understand why it might not be important enought to make it into the initial release). I hope they also get the AV functionality integrated too for those of us who have AV Macs.
