Is there a good program to block SPAM or junk email? I use Eudora. My internet provider might also -

Often the remove or unsubscribe options don't work.

Set up another email address (a free one like yahoo) that you can use when ordering stuff online. That should save you a bit of aggrevation right there.

Many times, the remove and unsubscribe features only confirm that they have a valid email address. In Eudora, you can set up filters to automatically send messages (based on whatever criteria you decide) to the trash.

Hope that helps http://macgurus.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

www.macintouch.com (http://www.macintouch.com) has a special report section with info and links about spam and abuse. NEVER unless you already know the sender, remove - they will, only to sell your address to someone else. A shell game.

Some ISP offer more than one email address. Apple has mac.com that can be used in Eudora as well and have multiple addresses. One for newsgroups, one for private use, one you use for online, for BBS.

Use the filtering Eudora offers. Send to postmaster@ and let them know. Learn to read full headers and look for a "forged" or invalid info.

Guard your email and personal information.
Check to see if Switchboard and online White Pages etc have you and your email address listed. They will remove it, ask though to have it deleted permenantly.

HTML email can signal to the sender that it was opened (if you used Outlook, it uses IE's html and cache for html-enabled email).
