View Full Version : Firmware Problems G4

12-02-2003, 09:36 AM
Whenever I turn on my G4 I get a long "beep" and a firmware command prompt that says type "mac-boot" or "shutdown". I've tried typing both and get nothing but a grey screen. I've had the motherboard replaced...same thing happens.
Any clues? Please help http://forums.macgurus.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

try typing this:

reset-nvram <return>
set-defaults <return>
reset-all <return>

It should then reboot..

I've seen people mention it and in MacIntouch reports etc. Might want to start by reading Apple KB article #42642 (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42642) though.

Apple search results (http://search.info.apple.com/?search=Go&q=Open+Firmware&Submit.x=0&Submit.y=0&type=)
