The ethernet port on my Bondi iMac seems to be dead. I've followed Apple's recommended troubleshooting process (zap PRAM, start from CD, check cables, hub). At the end of their diagnostic procedure, it concludes "replace logic board". I'd like to know if I'm at that point or not. If so, can I replace the logic board with a 266MHz version, or only another 233?

When I connect the iMac to my router, the link LED on the router never lights, and the "collision" and "100Mbps" LEDs both flash. I looked up in the router manual, but there was no explanation of this LED pattern.

Thanks,

Charles

the diagnostic CD is right lol sorry you need a new logic board, l think you can only use the 233 mhz one which you are using at the mo. Although it has been heard by using a special connecter to your ethernet port made of metal it can work :s not sure though look on SpyMac.com
