I need to replace the board in my 8500, where can I find one for a reasonable price? so far I can't price it cheaper than 400...

You probably could buy an 8500 with no drives or ram for 80 or a 100 dollars on eBay, hard to justify spending much just on a board. In fact you could get a 9600 for a couple of hundred and transfer all your current stuff to a little better box.

I don't see any on eBay that are as low as $30 but most seem to be well under $100. There are a couple at $40. One starts at $25 but is untested. That is usually the seller's way of saying: this is crap I'm trying to get money for.

You could probably get one of the $40 ones, use the logic board, and part out the rest. If you can sell 8 parts off of it for an average of $5 each, you've got your logic board for free.

Look around eBay --I just did recently-- for an 86/95/9600 anywhere from 40 - 80+ bucks. Keep the goodies you need sell the rest. Like extra RAM if it's quality.
