Does anyone know how to deal with .art or .log files - apart from trashing them? I have received some attachments and don't appear to have any software capable of opening them. Does anyone know the type of app that generates them?

Hi

check out this link:

.ART looks like it might be a digi-cam format while the .log files can be opened by any text editor - try BBEdit..

for .ART - try GraphicConverter... (just a thought).

Unfortunately Graphic Convertor doesn't recognise it, that was the first one I tried. BBEdit does open the .log files, thanks for that, but the .art is going to pose a problem in that - Canon Crayola??!! I'll have to get them to resend the drawings in something a little more common. Thanks again for your help. http://macgurus.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

.art files are Adobe Illustrator files.

I don't think GraphicConverter will do them; they're vectors.

If you send them to me, I could convert them... but I'm out of town for the next two weeks.

I tried Illustrator and that doesn't want to know either. The website suggested Canon Crayola?!!! Does anybody use anthing like that - sounds like a kids painting program!
Still no luck, the guy that sent it can't open it either! http://macgurus.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Baggy,

Since you are an AOL user, this http://aol.about.com/library/weekly/aa013100a.htm?once=true& might be of interest. k
