The analog video board in our Rev A iMac went dead, and we have decided not to repair it, so we hooked up our old Apple MultiScan 15 to it. The monitor works, but only on one resolution, 640x480... Is there a fix for this? I heard something about a program that forces refresh rates. What is it and where can I find it?

There are a few workarounds. Not sure if any will work for you. Have you made sure the Monitors Control Panel shows you ALL resolutions and not just the recommended ones? If you open the resolution control strip module with the Control key held down, there should be a ton of rates available. You could also try SwitchRes (a shareware app that I used a lot with older Sun monitors) to unlock a lot of resolutions and offer a bunch of refinements over the normal Monitors CP. Check out my iDisk for an app called AllRez that will list all available resolutions on a display. It's under "Some Software".

Hope this helped out a little.
