My dad's old 7600 is having problems starting up. Press the power key, you get a startup chime and that's it. Soft-boot it and you get it to start normally. Thought this was the mobo battery, but after replacement, still got the same.

Here's the specs on the machine:

PM 7600 with Apple 604e/180 card
176 Megs of RAM; 2-8's, 2-16's, 2-64's. 64-meg sticks pulled from a PM 6500 (5v edo, right?)
1.2 gig Apple/Quantum HD
No PCI cards
External Diamond 56k modem
External Zip 100
OS 8.1

Could this be bad RAM? I have no idea what's going on with this thing.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You can reseat everything on the motherboard.

First, remove the external zip and see if it will boot. Those cables and built in terminator are junk. Make sure on the back of the zip drive termination is enabled.
