Probably a better choice than the Acard, the cards the same but the cables are TPO, I think higher quality, and the manual is written by an english speaker.

Go for it.

I just installed a SIIG 100/133 ATA card (no RAID) in this B/W G3 350, and ASP detects ACARD 6280M. Boots to OS 9.x and 10.1.3, came with a high quality cable and a power cable "Y". Running 2 Maxtor 7200's - one to each channel, with X on one and 9.2 on the other. Classic mode is running great so far. Have not spent mcuh time testing, but it feels at least twice as fast as the 20 Megs per second I was getting with the factory ATA.

Picked it up for $69 + freight, couldn't be happier.

Newbie, where did you purchase the card from?

This isn't my usual area of what works or not but there is some chatter on www.xlr8yourmac.com (http://www.xlr8yourmac.com) about various flavors, firmware, and using an A/V utility to adjust the speed. Worth a meander - and people like to post their experience in the drive upgrade database.

I ordered from:

http://www.provantage.com/

I see that it is $77 now. According to dealmac.com, it was $72 (I thought I was losing my mind, but i see that dealmac.com had them listed at $72, so they have changed their price at least once).

Still the best deal that I am aware of. Oh, yeah. . . you have to dig around a bit (search: SIIG ATA) to find it, but it's there. I would post the link, but the address to the page did not change in IE when I went to it. Strange.
