I just installed a 100GB IDE Hard Drive and used my restore CD's to reinstall the entire OS. Everything seems to work fine - just one thing.

When I hit the power button the first thing that pops up on the screen is a small folder in the middle of the screen with a flashing question mark. After about 5 sec. it dissapears and the "Happy Mac" comes on and the system boots up as normal.

Should I be concerned? Should I reinstall my old drive instead?

Power Mac G4 (about 3 weeks old)
512MB Ram
100GB IDE HDD (New)
60GB IDE HDD (Old not installed)

Hi Manuel,

Most likely all you'll need to do is next time your running go into your Startup Disk control panel or in OSX in your preference folder and designate your new drive as the Startup drive.

The question mark is the boot looking for a system folder to boot from.
