Looking for guidance in replacing an internal hard drive on an original G3 Powerbook. I believe it's the first model released, am awaiting confirmation of this from the owner (dad). The hard drive has died and is unrepairable, according to him. He's rebooted from the Norton CD but is unable to even examine the drive. Thus, he'd like to install a new hard drive. Looking for which models are compatible and installation instructions as I'm running a Pismo and I understand that the architecture has changed considerably from the original released models.

Thanks in advance.

Is this for a Wallstreet G3 or the 3500/3600 G3 box?

This link might help

I replaced the one on my wallstreet in about 1/2 an hour - If you get a drive from MCE (http://www.powerbook1.com), they have all the necessary instructions.
