Is it possibble to add a 3rd drive to the CDRW chain in my G4 733 instead of a zip? what settings would I use? slave? the drive would be a slow 5400 maxtor drive for storage/backup/mp3 and nothing more... I'd like it on the bottom so I'd use a new ribbon if it reaches would it need to be ATA-66 or 33?

thanks in advance

Hmmm - I don't think that you could run more than two devices per IDE channel - ie. master and slave.

But - aren't there two IDE channels on your machine?.

Yes. You could add another drive to the ATAPI bus in place of the Zip drive. Either ATA66 or ATA33 would work, but it would run as an ATA33. You would need to set it up as slave because the CD is expected to be installed as Master.

I thought the CDRom bus in the Sawtooth and later Mobo's were EIDE (16MB a sec) and not ATA33 .......
