On the product page the following statment is made:
"The RAID version of the Tempo only supports the Power Macintosh G3 Blue and White, the beige G3 DT and MT, and both AGP and PCI versions of the Apple G4
(Yikes and Sawtooth), including dual-processor models"
I asked Sonnet why it wouldn't work with 8500/8600, and they told me it worked with ALL PCI Macs. However, they said it required OS 9. But their website said it required 8.1-9.X.
Can someone tell me what the truth is?

they work on pre G3 machines. Though there are quicktime and mp3 playback issues. Its a bus speed issue with the card. This was all over Xlr8yourmac last year. Thats why it is worded that way here.

I have one running in a7200 with OS 9.1 and the firmware updater will not find the card. Stick it in a G3 or G4 and the finmware update works fine. Funny how they say it is compatible.

basically, we took what Sonnet had on their site, and planted it here.

you need to make sure that you are talking about the same board when you talk to Sonnet. One board indeed works in vintage Power Macs. One board, supposedly, does not.
