Hello Gurus

I have been gone for ten days and have been reading the threads. I am/have learned so much here. Thanks

I am semi new to music downloading so with Napster doing some work there must be other sites to download mp3 music? http://macgurus.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif Need to fill my Cheetah.

Yea or Nay

Thanks
Randy

Check out www.earbuzz.com (http://www.earbuzz.com) a Mac specific mp3 site. http://macgurus.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Yo. You can get on download.com and get LimeWire (http://www.limewire.com/). That will get you some tunes for your Cheeeeetah.

MTR.......dude.......thanks for the Limewire link. It rocks. It may take awhile for some of the downloads to complete, but it manages the file transfer much better than napster ever did.

Tips for the Masses about Limewire:

First off, make sure you have Macintosh Runtime Java 2.2.5 (MRJ 2.2.5) Installed on your machine. It's a smi (self mounting image file) file, and you may have to go into the prefs of Stuffit Expander and turn off some options, in order to get the MRJ to download with an intact ShrinkWrap, so your machine can complete the install properly.

You can find MRJ 2.2.5 here: http://www.info.apple.com/support/downloads.html

If you have shrinkwrap errors while trying to download and install MRJ 2.2.5, click on the "Download Help" link on the above page.

MRJ 2.2.5 can also be had on guru's ftp site.

Enjoy!

And thanks again Mac TR!!!

I have been in bed because of health problems - I had an hour or two to check it out - looks good.

I had MRJ 2.2.5 installed.

Can't wait till I can really check it out. http://macgurus.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Thanks

I had trouble installing MRJ. It appears to have installed properly by installing with "extensions off"

Okay - I must be an idiot. http://macgurus.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

I logged on to LimeWire just fine the other night - after I had a few beers......

but tonight the programed opened fine - but would not connect?

What might have I done with a small buzz that I am forgetting? It worked so nice the other night???

Drink a few beers again. http://macgurus.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_smile.gif
